Jul 12, 2023

"I used to use Charlotte Tilbury's Magic Cream but it was so expensive so I went on the hunt for something that did the same thing but was more affordable. After trying a few dupes I found this - it’s the perfect base for makeup and my skin has never looked better"

Beauty buffs say they have been blown away by a £25 anti-ageing cream and makeup primer that leaves 'skin feeling glowy and super soft all day', and 'rivals Charlotte Tilbury'. The budget £25 beauty product is being compared to Charlotte Tilbury's cult Magic Cream, which would normally cost £79 for a large tub.

The budget anti-wrinkle cream is made using Shea Butter which is a popular skincare ingredient for many reasons. It's suitable for all skin types and is famous for its moisturising properties but it's more than just that.

Shea butter contains fatty acids that help clear your skin of excess sebum which causes spots, but due to the nature of the butter it doesn't leave your skin feeling dry. It's got anti-inflammatory properties which is good for skin flare ups and it's an antioxidant which tackles signs of premature ageing.

Not only that, but the triterpenes in the skincare hero are naturally occurring chemical compounds are thought to deactivate collagen fibre destruction, this should make skin appear plumper and reduce the appearance of fine lines. It also is thought to help reduce the appearance of stretch marks and scarring.

It's no surprise that shoppers are loving the cream, with them rushing to leave reviews for the product. One shopper wrote: "After using this cream for a few weeks, I can definitely say that it has lived up to its promises.

"My skin feels incredibly hydrated and soft, and I have noticed a significant reduction in redness and fine lines. The SPF15 is an added bonus that helps protect my skin from sun damage.

"The cream is also very easy to apply and absorbs quickly into my skin. It has a pleasant, light fragrance that is not overpowering. The glass jar is also a nice touch, as it feels more luxurious than a plastic jar.

"I also appreciate that this cream is vegan-friendly, and I feel good knowing that I am using a product that is not tested on animals and does not contain any animal-derived ingredients."

A second said: "I have sensitive skin which is prone to hormonal breakouts, so I'm pretty picky about what I use, but this cream is loooooovely!!! It's lightweight—no greasy or sticky feelings—but still leaves your skin feeling glowy and super soft all day, and it acts as a smooth makeup base."

A third said: "I used to use the magic cream but it was so expensive so I went on the hunt for something that did the same thing but was more affordable. After trying a few drug store dupes I found this and have just started my second jar. It’s the perfect base for makeup and my skin has never looked better!!"

Some reviewers have said that they would prefer that the cream be fragrance free, with it reportedly having a light fragrance. There are other creams with a similar impact, such as La Roche-Posay's Nutritic Intense Rich or Beauty Pie's Super Healthy Skin™ Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream.
